Actor Sanusha Santhosh, best known for her work in Malayalam cinema, recently successfully completed her post-graduate course in Global Mental Health from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. The actor shared her experience on social media and posted a few pictures from the graduation ceremony. Sanusha, who returned to Malayalam cinema last year with the Indrans-Urvashi film ‘Jaladhara Pumpset Since 1962’, said she faced several sleepless nights and even felt homesick during her stay there.

“As I sat in the beautiful McEwan Hall waiting for my name to be called at the ceremony, I thought of the girl who came to this country, far away from everything she had ever known, with so many hopes, dreams and aspirations. The 2 long years of struggle, wanting to give up, missing home, crying, sleepless nights, working many part-time and full-time jobs, hard work, health issues, stress, every emotion I went through, finally paid off. Thank you God for always being my core strength and seeing me through. A million thanks to my family, who stood by me like a rock, as my biggest support system. Know that I am certain I would not have gotten to where I am today without you telling me to keep going, your faith in me, your prayers and immense encouragement, whether it was in my studies or my career,” she wrote.

She also thanked her brother Sanoop for ‘clapping the loudest for every victory I achieved.’ “Special thanks to Rojin Thomas chettan, for being the big brother and biggest supporter I could ever ask for. Thanks to all my friends who were there for me when I needed it the most, you made life a lot easier for me and it’s your faith in me that gave me strength,” she wrote. “Thank you to my teachers and classmates who were so supportive and understanding, and for all the guidance you have given me throughout my educational journey. I can’t thank you enough for respecting my privacy over these two years and giving me enough space and time to share my success when I wanted to. We made it!! So here it is, I am happy and proud to let you all know that I am an MSc graduate in Global Mental Health & Society, from the University of Edinburgh, and I owe it to myself for not giving up, surviving and achieving what I came here for. I am so damn proud of you!”, she concluded.
