We’re officially less than a week away from the start of the 2024 Olympic Games. While the opening ceremony is scheduled for July 26, there are still a few events that will take place before then.

But if you’re someone who wants to experience as much Olympic action as possible, it’s not enough to just know that there are a few events happening. You need to know what’s being played, and more importantly, you need to know when it’s being played. Luckily for you, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a look at the first day of Olympic events, including the start time for the first event in Paris.

When is the first Olympic event in 2024?

The Olympic Games will kick off on Wednesday, July 24 at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) with two soccer matches. The matches will be played between Uzbekistan and Spain, who will play in Group C, and Argentina and Morocco, who will play in Group B.

Rugby sevens pool matches begin at 9:30 a.m. (ET) on July 24 and run until 3:30 p.m. (ET).
