IIT Indore’s KV school receives bomb threat for August 15; security beefed up, school bus drivers, conductors frisked; check FULL details

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Kendriya Vidyalaya, located on the campus of IIT-Indore, received a bomb threat via email. The email threat stated that a bomb attack would destroy the school on August 15, India’s Independence Day.

The school immediately reported the matter to the police, stressing that the email named Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI as the sender.

The threatening email was sent to the school principal’s official email address at 5:22 p.m. on Friday.

A case has been registered under the leadership of SP Rural Ritika Basal, at Simrol police station in Indore.

Implemented security measures:

In response, security has been tightened on the IIT campus, where the KV school is located. Students are allowed to enter only with their IDs and parents of the school children are not allowed to go beyond Gate Number 2 of KV, which is 15-20 meters away from the school.

Buses are also stopped at Gate 2B for a thorough check and frisking, and drivers and conductors are also checked.

The combing takes place before and after school, and throughout campus.

All KV stores are thoroughly scanned before any items are issued. Awareness efforts are made for everyone on campus to ensure heightened awareness and vigilance.

To ensure the safety of students and staff, special checks are also carried out on drivers and conductors. There are also thorough inspections when children arrive at and leave school.

Following the complaint, a cyber team is investigating the matter.

Sunil Kumar, a public relations officer (PRO), also confirmed the bomb threat on the KV campus through email within the IIT campus.
