Appleton Public Library: Volunteers needed to help keep the children’s department organized by helping with ordering carts and/or shelving. Shelving involves pushing a cart, putting items in order, and putting books away. Ordering carts involves putting items on carts and can be done while seated. A minimum of one 2-hour shift per week is required. Proficiency in alphabetical and numerical order required. Training is provided. Contact: Colleen, [email protected]

Brewster Village: Is seeking volunteers with a variety of skills, experiences, and interests to meet the social needs of residents in short- and long-term nursing homes. Examples include companion/friendly visits, entertainment/activity assistant, cafĂ© host, meal service, or village counselor. Contact: Pam, 920-832-5400 or [email protected]

Habitat for Humanity and ReStore for the Greater Fox Cities area: Looking for ReStore volunteers to help with customer service, merchandising, donation take-in, cash register, etc. Various shifts available. Contact: Amy, [email protected]

Travel Together Assistance Dog: Help socialize service dogs in training through this prison dog program that trains dogs to help people with PTSD. Dogs are trained by inmates at Oshkosh Correctional Institution, but require public exposure. Volunteers take dogs to public places such as stores, parks, and restaurants on a flexible schedule. Linwood Community, a ministry of Fox Valley Lutheran Homes: Is looking for volunteers to help with seasonal lawn mowing. Volunteer as little or as much as your schedule allows. Contact: Sue, [email protected]

Outagamie County Nutrition Program: Seeking volunteers for meal sites to provide meals to seniors in Appleton, Kaukauna, Seymour and Hortonville. Duties include packing meals, setting tables, serving and cleaning up. Shifts are generally from 10am to 1pm. Retirees and Seniors Volunteer Program 55+ (RSVP): Is seeking volunteers 55 and older who live in Outagamie, Calumet, and Waupaca County to serve the community in a variety of roles, including in-person and virtual. Riverview Gardens: Become a Hoop House Helper by supporting community growth through planting, harvesting, and implementing organic pest control. Flexible hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm weekdays. Ideal for ongoing project enthusiasts and those looking for regular volunteer opportunities. Responsibilities include maintaining records, adhering to organic farming practices, and working with diverse teams. Tasks include bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 35 pounds), and using tools. SOAR Fox Cities: Looking for volunteers for special needs dances. Volunteers are needed to socialize and serve participants.
