PU and SMDC join forces in academic collaboration

In a major step towards enhancing collaboration in education and research, Punjab University has (PU) and Shalamar Medical & Dental College (SMDC) Lahore has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The signing ceremony took place at the office of the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University with senior representatives of both institutions present.

Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, and Prof Dr Muhammad Zahid Bashir, Principal of Shalamar Medical & Dental College, were present to formalize the agreement. The MOU is intended to promote collaboration in various academic and research endeavors, and provide enriched experiences for both students and faculty members.

Under the terms of the MOU, both institutions will collaborate on a range of activities, including joint research projects, publications and academic programmes such as degrees and diplomas. They will also co-host seminars, conferences and workshops, and facilitate faculty and student exchanges to broaden academic horizons and share knowledge.

Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood expressed his optimism about the partnership and said, “We believe that this MOU will yield positive results and contribute significantly to the academic growth of both the institutes. Our collaboration will pave the way for innovative research and development in various areas.”

The Principal of Shalamar Medical & Dental College, Prof Dr Muhammad Zahid Bashir, agreed and emphasised the importance of such collaborations in improving educational standards and research opportunities.

The collaboration between PU and SMDC marks a milestone in their quest to create a more integrated and comprehensive academic environment, ultimately benefiting the broader educational community in Lahore.
