The winner of the Best Dressed competition at the recent Kilbeggan Races Midlands National found her beautiful Ralph Lauren dress in a charity shop.

Kilbeggan-born Katie Moran accepted the award at the Sustainable Style Ladies Competition last Friday.

Judge on the day, Sarah Jane Foster said: “I absolutely loved judging Ladies Day at Kilbeggan Races this year. I grew up racing here with my family and have so many fond memories here, so it was super special to judge Ladies Day.

“The style was incredible. The theme was sustainable and the ladies delivered. They were really creative with their outfits. It also proved that money can’t buy style. I learned so much from them.

“One lady in particular was Katie Moran. I fell in love with her outfit straight away. It was a Ralph Lauren dress that I bought online from Oxfam Ireland, which I didn’t even know had an online store, and I looked at it and it’s really good. She styled it so perfectly with her accessories and even made a few herself. It was her First Ladies Day win and I predict Katie will win many more.”

Katie wore a handmade white belt and a stunning black and white hat by Karen Edell Millinery in Tullamore. She won a prize worth €5,000, of which €2,000 was in cash.
