Si Woo Kim becomes the first golfer to make a hole-in-one at Royal Troon in the Open His

Si Woo Kim’s name is officially in the history books of Royal Troon.

During the third round on Saturday at the course in Scotland, Kim hit an excellent tee shot on the 17th hole. The ball kept rolling onto the green, giving him a hole-in-one that caused a big celebration.

The 238-yard holeout is the first time a player has made an ace at Royal Troon on the 17th, the course’s longest par-3, in the 10 times it has hosted the British Open. Something that had seemed almost impossible was made easy by Kim on Saturday.

The commentators on various broadcasts could not believe their eyes when Kim’s ball rolled into the hole.

“No, that’s not possible, not at 17,” the official broadcast of the Open said.

“Look at this,” said Steve Sands and the NBC crew. “That was the roar we heard earlier! A hole-in-one for Si Woo Kim.”

Kim finished tied for third round, with a total score of 5 over. He is currently tied for 52nd at the Open.
