LPD Officers Return from Republican National Convention

La Vergne, TN – Five members of the La Vergne Police Department returned from their assignment at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, WI on Friday (07/19/2024).

Chief Christopher Moews said, “It was an honor for the La Vergne Police Department to be part of the security presence at the Repblican National Convention. “I am proud of their willingness to serve their country and represent the city of La Vergne with honor and distinction. I hope we can accept more opportunities like this in the future.”

La Vergne Police were invited by the Milwaukee Police Department to participate in this event. All costs are covered by the City of Milwaukee through federal funding provided for this national security event.

During this deployment, Chief Moews led a platoon of 40 police officers that responded to protests in and around the Red Arrow Park area of ​​downtown Milwaukee, and also assisted with securing the perimeter of the secure zone.

Other members of the La Vergne police helped secure the venue and escort dignitaries.

La Vergne Police Department officers included: Chief Christopher Moews, Lieutenant David Durham, Lieutenant Eric Staats, Sergeant Bill Timson and Patrol Officer Kyler Cline.
