NBA elects Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN) as new president

Former Secretary General of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN), has been declared President in the recently held Bar Association elections.

He received 20,435 votes, beating his closest rival, NBA-Institute of Continuing Legal Education Governing Council Chairman Tobenna Erojikwe, who received 10,998 votes.

The other presidential candidate, former NBA branch chairman in Lagos, Chukwuka Ikwuazom (SAN), finished behind with 9,018 votes.

Afam Osigwe succeeds the outgoing President Yakubu Maikyau (SAN).

Voting, which began on Saturday, ended at 11:59 p.m.
