Sadie Coughlan (née Nallen)
Portlaoise, Laois, R32E8NW/Banagher, Offaly

Sadie Coughlan (nee Nallen), of St. Ruadhan’s, Colliers Lane, Kilminchy, Portlaoise and late Banahger, Co. Offaly, has passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Preceded in death by her husband Peter and daughter-in-law Christine, and son-in-law Johnny. Much loved mother of Thomas, Marie, Cyriline, Edward, Gabrielle, Breda, Frances, John and Linda.

Sister of Thomas, Gerry, Gabo, Rita, Judith and Michael. Beloved grandmother of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deeply mourned by her loving family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Resting at her family home (R32 E8NW) from 4pm on Friday with rosary recited at 8pm. Departing at 11am on Saturday morning arriving at St Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon mass. Burial to follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Family flowers only, in lieu please make a donation to the Poor Clare Convent, Graiguecullen, Carlow.

Ellen (Nellie) Thompson
Parnell Street, Mountmellick, Laois

Thompson Ellen (Nellie) July 15, 2024 of Parnell St, Mountmellick, County Laois, peacefully in her 92nd year and in the kind and attentive care of the staff at St Vincent’s Community Nursing Unit, Mountmellick.

She is deeply missed by her sons Desmond and John, her daughter Sylvia, her grandchildren Oscar, Celia, Lara and Ralph, Kaitlin, Beulah and Juliette, niece Jane, daughter-in-law Amanda, son-in-law Des, nephews, nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.

Her husband Cecil died in 2014. The funeral service will take place at St Paul’s Church, Mountmellick at 2.30pm on Sunday 21st July.

James (Jim) Contant
Churchfields Heights, Castletown, Laois

James (Jim) Cash passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024 at Churchfields Heights, Castletown, Co. Laois, surrounded by his beloved wife Anne and their family at Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Anne, their seven daughters, two sons, grandchildren, sons-in-law, sisters, brothers, grandchildren, sons-in-law, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors and friends. He will also be greatly missed by his best friend and brother Nedser.

Jim will be laid to rest at St Fintan’s Church, Mountrath on Thursday 18th July 2024 from 5.30pm to 7pm with family and friends. Reception prayers at 7pm. Requiem mass will be held at 10am on Friday 19th July 2024 at St Fintan’s Church, Mountrath. Burial to follow at Ss Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and carers at Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home in Portlaoise for the excellent care they provided to Jim.

Elizabeth (Lilly) Kinsella (née Walsh)
Ballinlough, Ballyroan, Laois

Lilly passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Lilly was the beloved wife of John, loving mother of Marie and Ray, adored grandmother of Ethan, Luke, Sage and Beau and mother-in-law of Aidan and Ciara.

Much loved sister of Mary and Anthony Costello, Kathleen and Pat Ramsbottom, Ann Dignam, Paddy and Jackie Walsh, Tommy and Kathleen Walsh, Jim and Adrienne Walsh, Bridie and Ted Wall, Liam and Sheila Kinsella, Tom and Jim Kinsella.

She will rest at her home in Ballinlough (R32DX36) from 2pm on Thursday 18th July, concluding with the recitation of the Rosary at 7pm.

Requiem Mass on Friday 19th at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyroan, followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Irish Cancer Society.
