Calls for papers

Opinio Juris Fourth annual symposium on pop culture and international law: There are two weeks left to submit an abstract for the Fourth Annual OJ Symposium on Pop Culture and International Law! Abstracts of 400 words or less must be submitted no later than 1 August. For more information, see here. Questions can be directed to Sarah Zarmsky or Alonso Gurmendi.

Workshop on ‘Terrorism and Warmongering’: This workshop is conducted in cooperation with the Minerva Center for the Rule of Law under Extreme Conditions, University of Haifa, and the Institute of Law and Technology, Masaryk University. It will take place in Prague from December 2-4, 2024The deadline for submissions is August 12, 2024. Submissions are invited from both experienced and early career researchers (namely PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows and academics up to 5 years after completing their PhD). The organizing committee aims to ensure a good balance between experienced and early career researchers among the workshop participants.

Essex HRC Speaker Series: The Future of UN Peacekeeping Operations: Professor Ai Kihara-Hunt (Professor at the Graduate Program on Human Security and Deputy Director of the Research Center for Sustainable Peace, University of Tokyo) on “The Future of UN Peace Operations”. This will be about Monday 22nd July at 2.00pm-3.30pm London time on campus and online. The lecture will be chaired by Professor Carla Ferstman (Essex Law School and Human Rights Centre).
