Cleveland Dodd inquest: Senior officer apparently found ‘napping’ on tragic night excused from giving evidence

The part-heard inquest into the self-harming death of Unit 18 detainee Cleveland Dodd has resumed, with the senior officer who was apparently sleeping that night excused from giving evidence.

The first phase of the inquest heard earlier this year that the apparently sleeping officer, Karl Mead-Hunter, had to be roused from a dark room — emerging adjusting his clothing.
