Mallikarjun Kharge conveys wishes to Indian contingent participating in Paris Olympics

New Delhi (India), July 27: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge conveyed his best wishes to the Indian participants of the Paris Olympics.

Kharge took to his official X account on Saturday and wished the Indian contingent a happy day on behalf of the Indian National Congress. He asked the athletes to make India proud with their achievements.

“On behalf of the Indian National Congress, I join the nation in wishing our incredibly talented Indian athletes all the best for the #Olympics in Paris. Your dedication, perseverance and passion have brought you to this world stage. Make India proud with your achievements and may your spirits soar as high as the tricolour. Bring home glory and create memories that will inspire generations to come,” Mallikarjun Kharge wrote on X.

Earlier on Saturday, India’s top scorer Manu Bhaker finished third in the qualifying round of the Women’s 10 Meter Air Pistol to qualify for the finals at the ongoing Paris Olympics. While Rhythm Sangwan missed out on her place in the finals after finishing 15th.

Manu Bhaker showed a stunning performance in the qualifying round. In the first two series, Manu finished with 97 points. In the third series, the 22-year-old took 98 points. In the last three series, she sealed 96 points to finish in third place with a total of 580-27x.

Manu’s teammate Rhythm, on the other hand, finished in 15th place with a total of 573-14x points and did not make it to the finals.

Indian shooters Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Cheema failed to make it to the finals of the men’s 10m air pistol competition.

Cheema (ranked 18th with 574-17 points) and Sarabjot (ranked 9th with 577-16 points) failed to reach the last eight who qualified for the medal round.
